🎥Practical Magic x You’ve Got Mail
🌊small town (island in the PNW)
✨four sister witches
❤️rivals to lovers
💌 secret pen pals (online)
🔥 Slow burn
🙋🏻‍♀️eldest daughter

Synopsis:
Practical Magic meets You’ve Got Mail in this cozy magical romance novel.

You’ve Got Magic.

Lillian Rosewood is doing just fine…thank you very much. She has her three sisters, her daughter, her plant shop, and a budding online “friendship” with a mysterious man who fills her heart with glee. She does not have any room for magic (much to her sisters’ disappointment) or relationships.

Then she meets Silas Barstow.

The chemistry between them is heady, and every time he’s near, Lillian’s long-buried magic stirs to life as though she hadn’t abandoned it. There’s just one problem—Silas has opened a plant shop/brewery only a block from hers. On a tiny island like Owen’s Hollow, there’s barely enough business for one of them, let alone two.

Determined to save her shop, Lillian throws herself into planning the biggest Halloween festival the island has ever seen. Unfortunately, thanks to her meddling aunt, she and Silas are forced to organize the event together. As they spend more time side by side, rivalry gives way to friendship, friendship to undeniable attraction.

Then strange things begin happening at Silas’s brewery.

Silas is convinced someone is sabotaging his business, and suddenly every lingering glance and stolen smile is overshadowed by suspicion. But Lillian senses something far more unsettling is at work. The brewery isn’t being sabotaged. It’s haunted.

As if the ghost weren’t enough trouble, Lillian makes an even more shocking discovery—Silas is the mysterious man she’s been chatting with online. Now she’s hiding a secret that could destroy all the trust they’ve built. How can she tell him the truth when he suspects she’s trying to ruin his business?

Lilian must embrace the magic she’s spent years denying, uncover the truth behind the haunting, and decide whether love is worth taking a chance on.

Some books stay with you long after you’ve turned

Some books stay with you long after you’ve turned the last page. Simon vs. is one of those for me 🩵
.
This read opened the door to so many incredible stories back in 2017 and I can’t thank Becky Albertalli enough for this! When I saw that my library had a copy of it in its Libby catalogue I just had to read the story of Simon Spier again after all this time. 🥰
.
Have you read this one? I’d love to hear your thoughts even after all these years 💭

Let me show you just how crazy my vacation physical TBR is… and I only chose 7 of these 😜 (+ my e-reader, obviously!)

Please send help because I’m taking all these bricks with me 😂📚 And tbh, we all know I won’t even be able to read the whole time.

But I have an overflowing TBR and FOMO, so clearly I need all these options… and why not try to tackle them while I’m on vacation? 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

‼️ A review copy of this book has been sent to me in exchange for an honest review.

📖 SYNOPSIS:
One summer can change everything.
Marnie Stevens has her eyes set on becoming a museum curator. She is a finalist for a new promotion and is one step closer to achieving that dream, until an unexpected twist of fate lands her on the picturesque island of Martha’s Vineyard for the summer. To prove she is the top candidate for the promotion, she must plan and launch an exhibit themed around Jaws, a film woven into the island’s history and culture. With a deadline looming to unveil her exhibit, Marnie has no time to be seduced by a beautiful island, mouthwatering pumpkin spice lattes, or the handsome contractor tasked with building her exhibit sets and bringing her vision to life.
Caleb Hansen has lived his entire life on Martha’s Vineyard, following the predetermined path of working for his family’s contracting company while navigating a complicated relationship with his father. He agrees to do one more job. Then he’s done for good. But when he’s tasked as the lead contractor on the new Jaws exhibit with the island’s historical society, he meets Marnie, and everything changes. While working together, their relationship blooms into something more, and he finds his creative spark reignited. Marnie encourages him to pursue his own dreams, while Caleb tempts her to bend her rule of no workplace romances.
The more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to resist Caleb’s charm, and Marnie finds herself blurring the professional boundaries she’s put in place while trying to keep the exhibit on track. With summer quickly coming to an end, Marnie starts to question what she’s wanted all along after discovering just how sweet it can be to live on island time.
.
💭 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was a great summer read. Caleb and Marnie have really good chemistry and I was rooting so much for a happy ending because how can you not? They were so cute together! I Getting both of their perspectives through the dual POV made the whole story feel so much deeper and sweeter.
If you want a beach read then give “On Island Time” a try! 🥰

Throne of Glass & Crown of Midnight were rereads for me, and somehow I still loved going through all the betrayal, heartbreak, and chaos again. Just like I said I enjoyed my heart being broken again far too much 🤭

It’s always so interesting to reread books when you already know what’s coming and suddenly notice all those little details you missed the first time. And believe me I couldn’t remember most of the things …👀

Happy Release day to “The Fae Guardian” by @ellethrasherauthor 🥳 When you swipe to the right you will see two graphics that were premade by @behindthepagespa
.
I recently finished this wonderfully written romantasy, and I just couldn’t put my Kobo down while reading this story. We follow Princess Freija, the heir to the throne. For years, she was trained to be perfect, but then a threat to her life emerges, and everything changes. She is assigned a guard, and soon her image of herself starts to crack. Freija simply cannot resist her guard, but loving him is forbidden. Soon, she has to choose between an arranged marriage and her own wellbeing…
.
💭 The setting was absolutely beautiful, as was the writing style. While reading The Fae Guardian, I felt like I was a character in the book, and I could vividly visualise the scenes. The witty banter between Freija and Halvar was entertaining as hell, and I just couldn’t stop smirking 🤭
.
This book also has some plot twists that leave you on the edge of your seat, including one major twist that I saw coming but still enjoyed anyway. The pacing was perfectly done, and I flew through the book.
.
The only thing that makes me sad is that it’s a standalone 😭 But apparently, there are other fae books by Elle Thrasher out in the world, so I’ll get over it 😂
.
Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❤️

I’ve been thinking a lot about the Monsters of Verity Duology recently and just had to share these with you. I’ve read the Duology back in the day when the books first came out and I am still not over what happened. 😭 Why did you do this to me V.E Schwab? 😭😅
.
But on a more serious note: READ THIS DUOLOGY! Your heart will probably break but it is about monsters and their hunters so what else do you need to be happy? Definitely no heart and soul🤣 What are you waiting for? Go read it! and believe me you won’t be disappointed.

💭 What’s this book about?
Dark Urban Fantasy about a divided city where you can find real monsters. Kate and August, our main protagonists couldn’t be any more different as one has to hunt the other and the monster amongst them wants nothing more than to become human or at least feel like it.
.
❔This duology came out a few years ago and I still remember everything that happened which actually says a lot about my reading experience 🤣 What about you have you read these and what js one of your favourite Duology ?
