Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. How are you all? I hope you’re good!
Today I’m back with another review for you guys and one that is long overdue! I read this book last year and LOVED it.
And now without further ado let’s start with the information about the book.

Goodreads Synopsis:
For the millions who log in every day, Warcross isn’t just a game—it’s a way of life. The obsession started ten years ago and its fan base now spans the globe, some eager to escape from reality and others hoping to make a profit. Struggling to make ends meet, teenage hacker Emika Chen works as a bounty hunter, tracking down players who bet on the game illegally. But the bounty hunting world is a competitive one, and survival has not been easy. Needing to make some quick cash, Emika takes a risk and hacks into the opening game of the international Warcross Championships—only to accidentally glitch herself into the action and become an overnight sensation.

And now without further ado let’s start with the review!

What I liked
It’s already an eternity that I finished this book so I’m not sure if I remember everything so I will do a quick review of it.
First of all the book was pretty fast-paced and I love it when authors do that! Because when the book is fast-paced I will be more inclined to read it quickly and to read it in one sitting. If it isn’t too chunky of course!
Fact number two is that you quickly emerge in the story. After the first few pages, I already was amazed by everything that I read and couldn’t put the book down. I LOVED it and the storyline was different than the other books that I read by Marie Lu. Which are only Legend and Batman: Nightwalker. But I can’t remember if I read Batman before Warcross. I also can’t say if Warcross is similar to Ready Player One as I haven’t read that one yet but I found the storyline to be original and it was something new.
I also have to say that I love her writing style and that I can’t get enough of it.
Same goes for her characters. They are written in such a perfect way that you can’t do anything else than love them. Even the villain. I don’t know how Marie Lu does it but I’m always amazed by it.
Guys, can we please talk about the end? I remember that I was totally shocked by that plot twist. I can’t even begin to say how much I was destroyed by this.
What I didn’t like
I honestly can’t remember why I only gave it a 4.5 ⭐️ rating. Maybe because it took a bit too long to come to the conclusion of book 1? And also the romance was a bit obvious.
Favourite Character
Emika. For ever and ever!
Overall, I’d recommend it to every sci-fi fan and also amongst the gamer of you. I’m not a gamer but I’m pretty sure some of you are and will love it.

Amazon – 9.99€

I absolutely adored Warcross and I can’t wait to read the second one ❤❤❤❤❤
I’m glad that you enjoyed reading Warcross 🙂 I found the second one a bit disappointing. My expectations were probably also a bit too high.
Fun review!! I think I also rated the story a 4.5 because I loved the main character and the world-building, but I did think the romance was a bit too predictable.
Thank you! 🙂 Yeah, the romance definitely was a bit too predictable.
I loved this book too 🙂 The best thing, for me, was the world building. I really liked the characters and the story but I was fascinated by the world 🙂
