Hello everyone and welcome back to the second post of the day. If you forgot the first post, I will link it here. It is a review of a very great and spooky book.

But now let’s go back to this second post which is my reading challenge wrap up for the month of August.

I participated in two readathons the N.E.W.T.s Readathon (TBR) and in the Disney-a-thon (TBR). Let me just spoiler you a bit. I failed a little bit. I might have been way too ambitious!

#1 – Care of Magical Creatures ✅

📚 A – Follow the Spiders! Why couldn’t it be follow the butterflies! – Book title that starts with the letter A, for Aragog. ✅

A Man of Shadows by Jeff Noon

I hated that book but at least I managed to finish it. The writing style wasn’t my thing and I found it annoying as hell. Will definitely not continue with the series!

📚 E – Book under 300 pages ✅

I Hate the Internet by Jarett Kobek

Same here. I DNFed the book the first time I read it 2 years ago. This time I finished it but I absolutely didn’t like it! The style wasn’t working for me.

📚 O – Grab onto Fawke’s tail – Read a book with a bird on the cover! ✅

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

The only book in that course that I liked. I listened to the audiobook and I will probably read the physical version in the future. It was a great read!

#2 – Charms ✅

📚 A – Read a book that you think has a gorgeous cover ✅

The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman

This book was so so so so great! I loved every bit of it. And the layout of this book was so pretty.

📚 E – Read a comic/graphic novel/manga (or book under 150 pages) ✅

Ajin Demi-Human, Volume 3 by Gamon Sakurai

This manga is really great and I hope that I will manage to finish this series at least!

📚 O – (Facultative) – Spongify (softening charm) – Read a paperback book ❌

Legendary by Stephanie Garber

As this was my facultative read in this course I didn’t read it. And to be honest. I would have never managed to read it!

#3 – Herbology ✅

📚 A – Mandrake! Quick, put your headphones on! Listen to an audiobook! ✅

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

This was a re-read for me as I’ve already read the physical copy in English before. This time I listened to the book in german and I have to say that the narration wasn’t that bad it was even a better reading experience than what I had before when I read the book myself.

📚 E – Read a book between 350-390 pages ✅

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

I’ve heard so many great things about this one and it has been on my TBR since I’ve joined the book blogger world. For me it was an okay read but I wanted more!

📚 O – (Facultative) – Read a book with a flower on the cover ❌

The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum

As this one was facultative for me I didn’t manage to read it. I might be able to read it in the future though!

I have successfully managed to get my degree in order to become a Magizoologist and I’m so bloody proud of myself! I never thought that I could manage it because I have been too ambitious but I did it!! What about you?

Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman

Unfortunately I didn’t manage to finish Thunderhead in time. It is a brilliant read and I love it so far!

Das Böse in deinen Augen by Jenny Blackhurst

This book is already on my TBR for a year now and I really want to read it but I just don’t have the time.

📚 The Snuggly Duckling Crew – Read a book with a dreamy cover ✅

Someone New by Laura Kneidl

This book was amazing. I never would have thought that New Adult books were my thing but they are. And that’s STRANGE? Who am I becoming?

📚 Mother Gothel – Read a book featuring a power hungry character – this book must be out of your comfort zone ✅

V for Vendetta by Alan Moore

I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. But then again I do have my problems with graphic novels!

📚 Maximus – read the group book ❌

A Curse so dark and lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

I didn’t manage to find a copy of this book so from the beginning on I failed this prompt. But it’s honestly so hard to find it here!

As you may have noticed this challenge was a bit more difficult and I didn’t manage to win this one but that’s no problem. Reading is supposed to be fun! What about you? Did you manage to read all of your books? Please let me know in the comments below.
