Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! How are you all doing? I hope well!

Today is my stop in the “The Life Below” blog tour and I’m so excited for this post. I remember crying tears of joy, when I found out that I’ve been excepted for this tour. If you remember I already participated in the blog tour of the first book in this series “The Final Six” and I loved it. Here is the Final Six review. I have a review planned for you guys. Thank you to Harper Teen and Alexandra Monir for sending me a review copy in exchange for an honest review!

If you haven’t read book one I would advise you not to read this post or the synopsis of the book as there might be spoilers from the first book in it. Concerning book two, “The Life Below”, this review is spoiler-free.

And now without further ado, let’s start with this post!

Synopsis:

As Naomi lifts off into space and away from a rapidly deteriorating Earth, she watches the world fade away, and along with it Leo, a Final Six contestant she grew close to during training. Leaving Earth behind is hard, but whatโ€™s ahead, on Europa, could be worse. The International Space Training Camp continues to hide the truth about what happened to the last group of astronauts who attempted a similar colonization but failed mysteriously. With one shotโ€”at this mission and to Europaโ€”Naomi is determined to find out if there is alien life on Europa before she and her crew get there.

Leo, back on Earth, has been working with renegade scientist Dr. Greta Wagner, who promises to fly him to space where he can essentially latch on to Naomiโ€™s ship. And if Wagnerโ€™s hypothesis is right, it isnโ€™t a possibility of coming in contact with extraterrestrial life on Europaโ€”itโ€™s a definite. With Naomi unaware of what awaits, itโ€™s up to Leo to find and warn her and the others.

With all the pieces of their journey finally clicking into place, everything else starts to fall apart. A storm threatens to interfere with Leoโ€™s takeoff, a deadly entity makes itself known to the Final Six, and the questions the ISTC has been avoiding about the previous failed mission get answered in the worst way possible. If the dream was to establish a habitable domain on Europaโ€ฆ the Final Six are about to enter a nightmare.

What I liked

Can I just say that this book was even better than the first? And I already loved the first. I didn’t think that “The Life Below” would manage to dethrone “The Final Six” but surprise. It definitely did!

The writing style was still amazing. I loved everything! The details, the characters, the space. Everything. I wanted to take my time reading this book but I did not manage to read slow. I had to rush through it because the storyline was just awesome. Do you know the feeling when you just can’t put the book down? Well this was one of those moments. My heart also skipped a beat, often if I might add. You never want something bad to happen to your favourite characters especially if they already went through shit in the first book. Nevertheless, knowing what happened in “The Final Six“, I knew that the young adults wouldn’t always be protected from bad things. And a book is pointless if there is not at least a bit of drama in it. However, my poor heart broke from time to time.

I loved that we could read from the different point of views of our two main characters. Naomi and Leo. I love these two. They are just so cute and now my question to the author: How could you separate these two at the end of book one? How?! I cried (at least a bit). But I have to say, smart move!

Another thing I liked was the end. It was awesome, amazing (please insert all other synonyms in here) and heartbreaking. This is supposed to be a duology but I do hope that we will get more of Naomi, Leo and the rest of the people. I want more, I need more so please can we get a third book? Especially after this amazing and addicting ending.

What I didn’t like

This book, this series is perfection. Thank you for the adventure and the many heartbreaks.

Overall, “The Life Below” is a book about adventure, team work, friendship, love and many more things. If you enjoyed reading “The Final Six“, I can guarantee you that you will also like its sequel. “The Life Below” continues immediately after “The Final Six“.
