Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! How are you all? I hope good.
I am back with a Down the TBR post and this time right on schedule!
The Down the TBR meme was created by Lia (Lost in a Story).
You’re probably wondering how this works but it’s actually pretty easy:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 or 10 books (or even more if you’re feeling motivated enough). And of course, if you’re doing this weekly you’ll start where you left off the week before.
- Read the synopses of the books.
- Decide: keep it or toss it!
And now without further ado, let’s do this!

Last time on my shelf – 1520
This time on my shelf – 1520
#1 – Jewels of the Sun by Nora Roberts – Link to Goodreads
I have no particular interest in reading this one. At least not now. It has to go!
Decision – GO
#2 – Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor – Link to Goodreads
I want to read this book! So so much! I need to read it. I finally bought myself a copy on book depository yesterday evening. So now we just need to wait for me to get my copy.
Decision – KEEP
#3 – Victoria by Daisy Goodwin – Link to Goodreads
I’m always interested in Historical Fiction that is set in England. I might give it a try in the future, therefore it stays on the list. At least for now!
Decision – KEEP
#4 – Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett – Link to Goodreads
This one has been sitting on my shelf for ages as well. I need and I want to read it.
Decision – KEEP
#5 – The Martian by Andy Weir – Link to Goodreads
I watched the film when it came out and I wanted to read the book afterwards but to be honest, I have no interest in reading the book any more!
Decision – GO
#6 – Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury – Link to Goodreads
This is a classic. I need to read more classics books, therefore I will keep it on the list.
Decision – KEEP
#7 – I am Malala by Malala Yousafzai – Link to Goodreads
I wanted to read this book for ages now. Since it’s release date. Unfortunately I never found a copy of it. It isn’t on Scribd, my library doesn’t have a copy of it, so I guess that I will have to take a look at my local book store to see if they have it. I hope so!
Decision – KEEP
#8 – How to Make a Wish by Ashley Herring Blake – Link to Goodreads
I have no particular interest in reading this one in the future. It has to go.
Decision – GO
#9 – Ghost by Jason Reynolds – Link to Goodreads
The synopsis sounds intriguing and the book is a short one. It has less than 200 pages. I can give it a try!
Decision – KEEP
#10 – Smarter Faster Better by Charles Duhigg- Link to Goodreads
I’m the queen of Procrastination so maybe this is the book that dethrones me? It stays.
Decision – KEEP
#11 – Austerlitz by W.G. Sebald – Link to Goodreads
It sounds very interesting but I’m not sure if I want to read it. It will have to go, at least for now.
Decision – GO
#12 – Beauty and the Beast by H.Chuku Lee – Link to Goodreads
This is a retelling of the Anderson tale, so I have to read it! Plus there are only 32 pages, so I will definitely read it someday.
Decision – KEEP
#13 – Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell – Link to Goodreads
I’ve heard many mixed things about this one but I loved Fangirl and Pumpkin Heads by Rowell. I will give Eleanor & Park a chance in the future.
Decision – KEEP
#14 – Well, That Was Awkward by Rachel Vail – Link to Goodreads
Nope. It’s just not my thing any more. Therefore, it goes.
Decision – GO
#15 – Piecing Me Together by Renée Watson – Link to Goodreads
It’s a book I absolutely want to read. Therefore, it gets to stay!
Decision – KEEP
#16 – The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken – Link to Goodreads
I already read the Passenger Duology by this author and I didn’t like it at all. I wasn’t a fan of her writing style therefore I won’t read the Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding.
Decision – GO
#17 – Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller – Link to Goodreads
That book has been on my list like forever now and I want to read it. I love a good book about pirates. Therefore, it stays.
Decision – KEEP
#18 – Now You See Me by Sharon J. Bolton – Link to Goodreads
Sounds intriguing. Let’s hope that I’m able to read it soon!
Decision – KEEP
#19 – Sandry’s Book by Tamora Pierce – Link to Goodreads
Same as above.
Decision – KEEP
#20 – Talking to the Dead by Harry Bingham – Link to Goodreads
The synopsis didn’t convince me.
Decision – GO
Total number of books kept – 13
Total number of books that had to go – 7
Total number on my to-read shelf – 1513
I got rid of fewer books than the last time but I’m still satisfied with how it happened. What about you? Is your TBR also out of control? Please let me know in the comments below!

I did a mass clear out of my GoodReads TBR a while ago so mine is fairly well under control I think!
That’s great! Wish mine looked the same 😅
I’m sure you’ll get there!
Keep all those good Tamora Pierce books!
I will 😊
I really need to do this.
It’s so helpful!
7 gone, that’s great!
