Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! How are you all? I hope good.

I am back with a Down the TBR post and for the second time in a row, right on time!

The Down the TBR meme was created by Lia (Lost in a Story).

You’re probably wondering how this works but it’s actually pretty easy:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 or 10 books (or even more if you’re feeling motivated enough). And of course, if you’re doing this weekly you’ll start where you left off the week before.
  • Read the synopses of the books.
  • Decide: keep it or toss it!

And now without further ado, let’s do this!

Last time on my shelf – 1505
This time on my shelf – 1506

Now there are a lot of books by my favourite author coming, so I’m sorry in advance but there are going to be a few Keeps on the list and a lot of French books.

#1 – Le Syndrome E by Franck Thilliez – Link to Goodreads

As I already mentioned above Thilliez is my favourite French Thriller author. Therefore, this book stays!

Same as above.

#10 – L’encre et le sang by Franck Thilliez, Laurent Scales – Link to Goodreads

I’m not really a big fan of short stories or novellas. Meaning that we have finally one book leaving the list.

Decision – GO

#11 – Fractures by Franck Thilliez – Link to Goodreads

My favorite author, a lengthy thriller. What do I need more?

Decision – KEEP

#12 – Avant Pandemia – Le grand voyage by Franck Thilliez – Link to Goodreads

It’s a short story and I’ve no interest at all in reading it.

Decision – GO

#13 – Double Je by Franck Thilliez – Link to Goodreads

Another short story, another go. And there are only 2 more French books, and then we’re back at English.

Same as above.

#16 – Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur – Link to Goodreads

I don’t know about this one. I don’t like reading poetry but on the other hand, I heard so many great things? What should I do? I will delete it for now because I don’t know when I’ll pick it up.

Decision – GO

#17 – Persuasion by Jane Austen – Link to Goodreads

I always wanted to read a complete novel by Austen, so this one stays!

Decision – KEEP

#18 – Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy – Link to Goodreads

I heard great things about this one but I have to admit that I’m intimidated by its size. It will have to go for now.

Decision – GO

#19 – Beauty and the Beast: Lost in a Book by Jennifer Donnelly – Link to Goodreads

I have to read this one! And the cover looks absolutely gorgeous.

Decision – KEEP

#20 – Nemesis by Brandon Reichs – Link to Goodreads

This sounds so intriguing. I have to read it. Have you read it?

Decision – KEEP

Total number of books kept – 13
Total number of books that had to go – 7
Total number on my to-read shelf – 1499

We are finally under 1500! I’m so glad. Even though it’s still many books that I have to read. How about your TBR? Are you cleaning it weekly as I do? Please let me know in the comments below.
