Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog. How are you all? I hope good!

Today I am back with a review for one of my anticipated new releases of the year and oh boy, my emotions are all over the place.

And now without further ado, let’s start with this post.

About the book

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she’s struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can’t seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre’s Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta’s orbit. But her temper isn’t the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other’s arms.

Review

Argh, help! I don’t even know how to start this review. Help me!

I loved this book and can’t put all of my emotions in one tiny review. Nesta has always been my favorite character from the beginning, and I was so happy to hear that she would get her own book. I have to say that my feelings towards her haven’t changed one bit and I absolutely loved to read about how she changed. The character development was amazing in this book.

I had however the feeling, that something changed. Was it the writing style or the fact that we didn’t get Feyre’s P.O.V. I don’t know. I just know, that something did change and that some of you came to the same conclusion. Which doesn’t mean that the book was bad. As you can see I gave it a 5-star rating. So I really love it but ACOSF felt different than the other books in the series.

It was great to be back at the Court with Rhysand, Cassian, Az, Elain, Nesta, Mor and of course Feyre. I missed all of these characters and the wait was definitely sooooooo long. I have to admit that the first time I held this huge book in my hand, that I got a heart attack. Over 700 pages and the worst thing was that I experienced a pretty bad reading slump. It took me ages to read ACOSF and I wanted to devour it like I did with the predecessors. I read all the other books in 1 sitting and here it took me nearly 3 weeks to finish it. Well the size didn’t help either.

One thing that disturbed me the most were some sex scenes. Some of them were so unnecessary and long. That the book could have been at least 100 pages shorter. However, the pacing of the book and the length of the chapters were impeccable. I loved the fact, that the chapters were short, and I can’t wait to read the sequel. How long do we have to wait?

Overall, I would recommend this book to all of you that already enjoyed the original trilogy. It was worth the wait!
