Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! How are you all doing today?
Today – late as usual – I have my monthly wrap-up for you guys. How many books do you think I’ve read? I don’t even know myself anymore and have to check my Goodreads feed. Unfortunately, I have so many things on my mind right now that I’m glad that someone (more like something) is keeping track of my read books.
And now without further ado, let’s start with this post.

📚 – #1 – Incognito by Katie Delahanty | ebook* | review copy | Entangled Teen | 445 pages | 4 bookish stars | Review
In the virtual utopia of the Simulation, everyone will live peacefully and without fear or needs—at least that’s how they’re selling it. But the government plans to use this program to take control of the entire human race. Elisha Dewitt has just been given her first mission to help prevent this, and she’s ready to prove she can go incognito just as well as any other master thief.
Breaking and entering? No sweat. She’s done worse. Stealing a cassette tape from the museum vaults will be easy—in, out, done—until he shows up…and everything gets way more complicated. Garrett Alexander just has that effect.
Nothing is as it seems, and a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse begins with Garrett, her rival and match in every way. Not knowing who she can trust, Elisha decides it’s up to her to rescue everyone—even Garrett—before the world as she knows it comes to a brutal end.
📚 – #2 – Redwood Dreams – Es beginnt mit einem Knistern (English title: Under Pressure) by Kelly Moran | Paperback | Rowohlt Taschenbuch Verlag | 320 pages | 4 bookish stars | Review coming soon (german)
You have the right to remain…sexy.
As sheriff of Redwood Ridge, Parker Maloney has learned to bite his tongue at the ridiculous antics of the town’s matchmakers. He’s just grateful they’ve never messed with him before. Except it kind of seems like he’s their next target. They keep sending him on one wild goose chase after another with a single common denominator–Madeline Freemont. Whatever. Maddie spent their youth terrorizing him and he has zero interest in reopening the claw marks. No matter how beautiful or intuitive or funny he finds her. Nope. He’s laying down the law on this one. Yet there’s something to her hot-as-hell spine of steel act he can’t figure out and she’s beginning to unlock the cell on his restraint.
Maddie Freemont’s no newcomer to the cold shoulder. Most of the town never warmed up to her. Or tried. So when her ex leaves her high, dry, and so in debt she’s forced onto the street, it’s no shock there aren’t any offered helping hands. She’s making due by taking any odd job she can to scrape by. Even though she would’ve done anything for Parker’s attention once upon a time, the last thing she needs is to be on his radar now. Why they suddenly keep crossing paths is a mystery. But it’s becoming increasingly difficult to ignore his handsome, subtle charms–and how he’s working his way under her resolve to expose desires she long ago shoved aside.
📚 – #3 – Achtsam morden by Karsten Dusse | Paperback | Heyne Verlag | 416 pages | 5 bookish stars | Review coming soon (german)
📚 – #4 – Jigsaw Man – Im Zeichen des Killers by Nadine Matheson | Audiobook | Bastei Lübbe AG | 476 pages | 4 bookish stars | No review planned
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…
When body parts are found on the banks of the River Thames in Deptford, DI Angelica Henley is tasked with finding the killer. Eerie echoes of previous crimes lead Henley to question Peter Olivier, aka The Jigsaw Killer, who is currently serving a life sentence for a series of horrific murders.
When a severed head is delivered to Henley’s home, she realises that the copycat is taking a personal interest in her and that the victims have not been chosen at random.
To catch the killer, Henley must confront her own demons – – and when Olivier escapes from prison, she finds herself up against not one serial killer, but two.
📚 – #5 – Der Kryptologe by Elias Haller | ebook | Kindle Unlimited | Edition M | 382 pages | 3 bookish stars | Review to come
📚 – #6 – Der Hypnotiseur by Lars Kepler | audiobook | Bastei Lübbe | 640 pages | 4 bookish stars | No review planned
In total, I’ve read 6 books last month, which isn’t that bad. It’s clearly not the amount of books I’m typically used to from these past few years, but as I’ve had a very bad reading year so far, I honestly can’t complain. What about you? How many books have you read in May? Please let me know in the comments below!
*DISCLAIMER: A review copy of this book has been sent to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you 🙂 hope so too but I really can’t complain about this month. I’m slowly getting out of my reading slump.
6 books is great considering how hard it’s been for everyone to read the past year or so!
Thank you! Yes, this reading year has been hard on everyone
