Hello everyone! Today, I am back with my weekly wrap-up post for you. I even finished three (3!) books, which is making me very happy. Even though 2 books were very disappointing. But at least I’ve finished them.
And now, without further ado, let’s start!

Books I’ve read
As I’ve mentioned, I finished 3 books, and all three of them were on last week’s post. So this is great!
📚 #1 – Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson | A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder #2 | Contemporary, Mystery, Thriller, Young Adult | started on August 6th | finished on August 9th | 417 pages | Rating: 5 stars | Goodreads
THIS is so far the best book in the trilogy. I devoured it, loved it, and how dare the author end the second book like she did? How?! Now I had to buy the third one ASAP and already started reading it on August 14th. I 100% recommend this book!
📚 #2 – Demain les chats by Bernard Werber | Les chats #1 | French Literature | Science Fiction | started on July 31st | finished on August 11th | 320 pages | Rating: 2 stars | Goodreads
This was a very disappointing read, and I’m angry at myself for having bought the sequel a while back. This has been an anticipated read for me, when I first saw it in my bookstore last year. However, it was not at all what I expected and such a weird read. To the French readers out there, I definitely don’t recommend it unless you like weird things.
📚 #3 – Darf’s ein bisserl Mord sein? – Wahre Verbrechen by Franziska Singer | German Literature | True Crime, Non-Fiction | started on August 2nd | finished on August 13th | 200 pages | Rating: 3 stars | Goodreads
And another disappointing read, which I managed to finish. I love true crime and cannot stop listening to all the podcasts out there, and I’m also a fan of this True-Crime Podcast (an Austrian true-crime Podcast) hosted by Franziska Singer and co-hosted by Amrei Baumgartl. Which is why I just had to buy the book. However, the crimes featured in the book are old. When I say old, I mean end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century kind of old. There were some recent crimes in there as well, but mostly the 70s or 90s. Unfortunately I thought that there would be some recent ones mentioned in the book as well and I kind of got disappointed because yet again it wasn’t what I expected. Other than that, the book was quite good.

Finished ARC’s *
I forgot to add a read arc on last week’s list, which is why I will do it now, and I’ve also finished reading one other arc this past week.
📚 #1 – Alliana, Girl of Dragons by Julie Abe | Asian Literature | Middle Grade, Fantasy | review posted on August 5th | Rating: 4 stars | Goodreads
📚 #2 – These Fleeting Shadows by Kate Alice Marshall | Young Adult, Horror, LGBTQ+ rep. | review posted on August 10th | Rating: 4 1/2 stars | Goodreads

Currently Reading
Well, let’s move on to the books I started reading on the second week of August.
📚 #1 – Die Morgenröte. Sie nehmen dir dein Leben by Noah Richter | German Literature | Thriller | started on August 11th | Currently on page 31/410 | Goodreads
I picked this one up in September and wasn’t in the right mood for it. To be honest, I completely forgot this book until I found it in my stack of unread books under the coffee table again. (hides in a corner)
📚 #2 – Das Erbe der Elfen (The Witcher) by Andrzej Sapkowski | Der Hexer #1 | Polish Literature | Fantasy | started on August 12th | Currently on page 35/379 | Goodreads
I am reading the Witcher in German, and I also gave this one a try a while ago. In 2019 to be exact, and the chapters are sooooo long. Which is why I had to put it down during the first try. This time I plan to stick through the whole book, even though I have to admit that the long chapters are kind of intimidating after a long day at work.
📚 #3 – As Good as Dead by Holly Jackson | A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder #3 | Thriller, Mystery, Young Adult | started on August 14th | Currently on page 7/570 | Goodreads
Yesterday I wanted to read more than 7 pages, but I was in no reading mood. Which was seriously annoying because I am ADDICTED to this series!

As always, I’m not mentioning any audiobooks or e-books as long as I haven’t finished them!
You probably also noticed that so far, I’ve finished a few books that are on my monthly TBR, as well as currently reading another book on this list.
What about you? What did you read this past week? Please let me know in the comments below!
*A review copy of these books were sent to me in exchange for an honest review!
