Today I am back with a small wrap up for you guys. But first I wanted to talk about what happened in the past weeks. First of all I want to make it clear that I will not, and I repeat, I will not accept any form of racism on this blog! If you are not okay with this then feel free to unfollow me. I don’t need racist or homophobic subscribers.

And my deepest apologies to the PoC, especially black people that you have to live through this every single day. I am aware of the privileges I have as a white woman and I will try my best to support you as good as I can. Therefore, my message: Please continue signing petitions (it’s the least we Europeans can do and it just takes a few seconds of your day), donating, supporting BIPoC authors and PoC colours. Share their works, read their works, review their works and if you hear/see or read something racist, tell these people that their behaviour isn’t the right one. Educate them, educate yourself as best as you can but don’t stay silent. I’ve been silent way too long, and I am deeply ashamed of this. I’m sorry, I will do better from now on because Black Lives Matter! So let’s keep fighting!

The next thing I’m deeply sorry about is J.K. Rowling’s transphobic message. I’m sorry that she wrote this. She was a person that I looked up to for nearly 20 years. In these past few months I haven’t been that active on Twitter and I’ve been shocked to read that this wasn’t the first message of that kind. I am in no way condoning such a behaviour and I took the necessary steps. I unfollowed her and I will not advertise any of the Harry Potter merchandise, books, films and podcasts on this blog any more. Harry Potter was my childhood, it helped me become the person I am today, it helped me be open-minded but I cannot accept what the author did, so I will stop supporting her. Transgender lives are more important than my childhood memories. I took my Hogwarts House out of all my social media accounts and if you see my house affiliation anywhere on this blog, please let me know, I will take it off immediately. The Wizarding World will always have a special place in my heart but some things are just way more important. Human rights should always be priority number one and I’m shocked to see that the author hasn’t even had the balls to apologize.

Well, with that being said, my blog will stay a safe place for everyone. If I make mistakes please let me know, I am here to learn! My DMs are ALWAYS open!

And now without further ado I will show you the books I’ve read.

#1 – Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo – Paperback – 422 pages – 5 stars – Review to come

I gave the whole trilogy a pretty great rating, considering that I preferred the Six of Crows Duology but sometimes I’m not making any sense at all. Don’t get me wrong Ruin and Rising was amazing and therefore it deserves the full rating but Six of Crows will always be above it. I should have probably read the books in the right order instead of doing it the wrong way? I am so excited for the Netflix series to come out but on the other hand I am nervous. What if they completely mess it up? What about you?

#2 – The Enigma Game by Elizabeth Wein – ebook – review copy* – 352 pages – 4 stars – Review

I am glad that I got the opportunity to be a part of this blog tour. WWII books always hold a special place in my heart because my grandparents lived during these times and I heard a lot of stories about their lives, their fears the terror they had to go through. I hope that people have learned their lessons and that we can someday live at peace all around the world. I might be naive but I hope that we will manage to live in a better way sometime.

I loved reading the journey of our MCs in this book and I do believe that everyone should read or at least take a look at it!

And that’s it. I told you that I haven’t read much these past few weeks and it will probably even be less in June, but I am currently reading some newly released books by black authors and I hope that I will be able to finish them soon so that I can share my thoughts with you. P.S. I love Felix ever after! I’m only a few chapters in but so far it is amazing. If your library has a copy of it or if you are able to buy it I’d recommend you to check it out 🙂
