Hello everyone and how are you all doing? For those that have never been on the blog before, welcome! For all the other regulars, welcome back!

Today I’m back with a Readathon Sign-up post, and we all know how I work. At least I suppose that we all know how my brain is working, right? I will be so overexcited for this TBR and then I’ll change the whole thing completely. Yep, that’s me! I think that this Readathon will stay the only one in July because I don’t want to feel overwhelmed.

Now you’re probably wondering about the Readathon. It’s the Totally Spies Readathon created by Noura @The Perks of Being Noura. I linked her Twitter account in this post so you can easily follow her if you don’t already. And you will also find all the info you need about the readathon. As the name already says, the Readathon is based on the Totally Spies show that we all, or at least most of us loved to watch during our childhood. It’s going to run during the whole month of May and the Teams are Sam, Clover and Alex. I suppose that no one is going to be surprised that I chose Sam. I mean I obviously loved her the most and I’m not only saying it because we are both gingers. Maybe a little.

And now without further ado, let’s start with the TBR!

Round 1

📚 – “A Thing for Musicians”: In episode one of Totally Spies, the Girls form an undercover band, read a book that has a band or is about music

A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan

This book was sitting on my Goodreads want-to-read shelf even though I don’t remember adding it on there. I haven’t even heard of it before but it does sound great so why not!

📚 – Read a book with green on the cover

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

This is a book that I wanted to read for a while now but never managed to. Hopefully the dice will fall on a 2 because I need and want to read this book so badly!

📚 – Clover: Book with a sassy main character

The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh

Another book that has been on my TBR for ages and another book I wanted to read for years now. Hopefully this will be the time!

📚 – “The Fugitives”: This was about doppelgängers and clones, why not try a sci-fi book

The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin

The Fifth Season is a book that I recently discovered and I heard nothing but great things. It also fits the prompt perfectly so I hope that I’ll be able to read it for this readathon!

📚 – Spy Gladiators: Try a book set in greek/roman mythology or set in those times

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

I don’t know how many times I put this book on a TBR but it has to be the millionth time and I’m so ashamed, that I still haven’t read it! But I will. Hopefully this time.

📚 – “Queen for a day”: Read a book with queens but by an author of color

Descendant of the Crane by Joan He

Another book that’s been on my want-to-read shelf for a while now but I’m quite determined to read it as soon as possible.

📚 – “Do you believe in magic?”: Read a fantasy book by an author of color

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

I bought this book last year (at least I think so) and I never managed to pick it up. Like so many other books on this TBR. Have you read this one already?

📚 – A book that starts with an S

Solo by Kwame Alexander

I don’t know anything about this book. So it will be a surprise.

📚 – The Drama Teens: Read a young adult contemporary

The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar

I heard so much about this book these past few days. It’s literally on everyone’s TBR, so I’m kind of excited to pick it up. If the dice lands on that field of course. But even if not. I’m probably going to read it either way.

And that’s all for the first round. I haven’t listed all the prompts as some of these are free choices.

Round 2:

📚 – Read a book by an author of color

The Color Purple by Alice Walker

I saw a picture of this book on Instagram and the synopsis makes me want to pick up this book. But I don’t know more about it.

📚 – Book by black author

We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

I wanted to read that one for a while now and it’s not that long so the perfect read for a readathon!

📚 – Read a contemporary at a given time

By the Book by Amanda Sellet

I don’t have much to say about this one. It has been released very recently so it’s also going to be a surprise for me if I manage to pick it up.

📚 – Book with an ownvoice character

Love from A to Z by S.K. Ali

I don’t know much about this one either but I heard nothing but amazing things.

📚 – read a new release by an asian author

Parachutes by Kelly Yang

Same as above.

📚 – Read a book by an author you discovered recently

This Is Kind of an Epic Love Story by Kacen Callender

I just love their writing style so much. I’m currently reading Felix Ever After by them and it is amazing!

📚 – Read a book with a smart female character

A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole

A modern Cinderella? Well it sounds amazing!

📚 – Read a book with a bubbly main character

Amelia’s Notebook by Marissa Moss

This one sounded interesting, so I added it to the TBR. But I’ve never heard about it before!

And that’s all! What about you? Are you going to participate in this amazing readathon? If so, on what team are you?
