Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog. How are you all today? I hope well!

Today is another review day and I have another witchy and vampire read for you guys! I received a review copy of “The Afterlife of the Party” by Marlene Perez from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own!

And now without further ado, let’s start with the actual post and review.

The bestselling author of the Dead Is… series is back with a snarky, hilarious take on the vampire romance novel.

When my best friend Skyler told me about this party in the Hollywood Hills, I was less than enthused. As it turned out, my feelings were more than justified. That party ruined my life.

Tansy didn’t even want to go to the party. It’s hard enough living in one of your best friend’s shadows and secretly in love with your other best friend.

And now she’s leaving it a vampire.

Now her best friend Skyler is stuck on the road trip from hell, on tour as a groupie with a literal band of vamps. Tansy sets out with Vaughn, her other BFF turned maybe more, to save Skylar’s life and take down the band. But when they find themselves in the middle of a vampire war, will Tansy be able to make the ultimate sacrifice to save her friends?

We are in October, well more like the end of October. And we all know what this means, right? HALLOWEEN SEASON!! Sorry got a bit too enthusiastic there! “The Afterlife of the Party” is the perfect Halloween read if you still don’t know what to read for these last few days of the spookiest month of the year. Everyone knows that we need a lot of distraction from our daily lives and I do think that Marlene Perez did a great job at doing so. I enjoyed reading her book. The book is full of scary vampires and also not so scary ones. And of course we have witches. I’m always a fan of witches in books and I swear I couldn’t get enough of the magic.

I found it nice to see the notion of friendship in this book. Tansy is like the best friend everyone should have. I’m not even kidding. She even goes to parties she doesn’t want to go to support her best friends and this party was one she definitely shouldn’t have gone to. Because her life definitely did get messy because of this party. The reader should be glad she did though, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to read this book.

In order to save her best friend, Tansy and her other best friend Vaughn have to go through a horror trip but both of them are totally ready to sacrifice themselves.

I have to admit that I found the book to be a bit lengthy and I had to rush through the middle part because I found it to be really long. Other than that I enjoyed reading “The Afterlife of the Party“. It was suspenseful, mysterious and spooky!

Overall, “The Afterlife of the Party” is the perfect fall read if you want to read something mysterious and spooky.
