Good morning, bookstagram! 🥰 I’m finally back with a post after how many weeks (even months, I guess)? Thank you reading Slump 😂

However, “City of Fallen Angels” has gotten me out of that crazy slump! And what a joy it has been to be back in this series 😍 I know I’m so late to the party, but this series is so intimidating. I don’t even know how many books exist in the Shadowhunter world. So, it is intimidating. But I want to catch up ASAP, as the next book has already been ordered.😁

My thoughts 💭:
So, “City of Fallen Angels” wasn’t my favourite book in the series, but I still enjoyed reading it. It felt so good to be back in the world and to see how they are evolving after the events of the third book. Surprisingly, I remembered most of it even though it had been years since I’d read City of Glass.
Those of you who’ve been following me on my blog since the beginning probably know that The Infernal Devices Trilogy is my favourite in the whole world and that I’ve never been much of a fan of the writing style in the “Mortal Instruments” series compared to the Infernal Devices one. However, in this book, it didn’t irritate me that much, and I quite enjoyed it even. I think that I tended to forget in the past that Clary and her friends are only teenagers who aren’t even 18 yet for most of them. So it is kind of normal for them to behave like 16-year-old kids, and the writing style has to adapt to this situation as well.
.
Can we talk about the ending, please? Can’t they be left alone for a second and live in peace? Is that too much to ask 😅 I’ve nearly got a heart attack 😂

I want to get as much reading done as possible on my (well-deserved) 1-week break, and I’m happy that I seem to be back in a real reading mood 🤩

I finished reading Bryony and Roses this week, and I enjoyed reading it. I wouldn’t say that it’s my favourite “Beauty and the Beast” retelling, but it was pretty nice to read something else.

I’ve also quite enjoyed the sarcasm of the FMC. It was for sure hilarious 😂

The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden is the second book that I’ve read by this author and again I wasn’t disappointed. You could even say that these plot twists made me mad. 😭 Every time that I thought that I’ve figured out who the bad guy was, the author managed to prove me wrong 😅. So this book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat! I’m still not okay by how it ended 😂.

Good evening Bookstagram 🥰

I’ve just finished « City of Lost Souls » by Cassandra Clare and I have mixed feelings about this one. For those of you who are following me on Goodreads you already know the rating that I gave this one: 3.5 🌟
.
This installment for sure took the story to an even more darker place and setting than the last book. We are capable of seeing the struggle when it comes to love and loyalty and also the consequences about pas choices. Yep, I’m eyeing Clary in regards of Jace. IYKYK. 😅
.
The pacing and writing however felt a bit odd for me though. I felt that this book dragged on and on and that it took so long before the real action kicked in. However the author still managed to catch me with the atmosphere and especially the banter!
.
In short this hasn’t been my favourite in the series but I still loved continuing my way through the series.

Yesterday I posted a review of “Dear Enemy” (link in bio) on the blog and today it’s time to share it with the Booksta bubble.

💭 Delilah and Macon absolutely hate each other since childhood. Delilah couldn’t have been happier about the fact that her sister Samantha wasn’t in a relationship with Macon anymore because now she didn’t have to see him anymore. Unfortunately her sister messed up and now Delilah has to step in in order to pay her sister’s debt. Which means moving in with Macon and working as his personal chef. Hell is going to break loose. Or could it be that both parties are mutually attracted to each other?

I did have my troubles getting into the story. However after a few chapters Delilah managed to convince me to continue reading it 😅 and am I glad that I didn’t DNF “Dear Enemy “ because I might have just found a new auto-buy author. Callihan’s writing style is great and the author just had a way to write the banter between both protagonists that I just couldn’t stop laughing during those scenes. I absolutely loved Delilah 🤩
